The $1,500 Area IV Young Rider Eventing Coaches Scholarship was established by the Area IV Young Rider Program in 2023 in an effort to further the quality of eventing instruction available within Area IV. It is offered to a USEA Area IV Young Rider member who meets the qualification standards and is selected as the scholarship recipient. 

These qualification standards include service to the sport, potential to provide future benefit of the sport, demonstration of compatibility with the education goals of ECP and intention to be assessed for ECP certification.

Applicants must be a current resident of Area IV, a current declared Area IV Young Rider, and demonstrate ties to the region with an intent to continue to remain within Area IV as an instructor.

Qualification standards:

• Service to the sport

• Potential to provide future benefit to the sport

• Demonstration of compatibility with the education goals of ECP

• Intention to be assessed for ECP certification

• Preferential consideration shall be given to applicants who are current residents of Area IV and intend to teach within Area IV. 

• An applicant who is a current member of Area IV but residing outside of the Area for educational or training purposes may also be considered for this scholarship providing they demonstrate ties to the region with intent to return to provide instruction or clinics within Area IV.
