Young Rider Year End Awards

Year End Awards Point System & Eligibility

Members of the Area IV Young Rider Program are eligible for Year-End Awards. Awards are presented at the USEA Area IV Annual Meeting each year. These are in addition to the awards presented by Area IV to the general membership and are restricted to declared members of the Area IV Young Rider Program. Area IV Young Riders follow a different point system than the general Area IV membership. You may find that you may or may not be eligible for Area IV general awards but may still be eligible for Area IV Young Rider awards.

1) Must be a paid and declared Area IV Young Rider member for the competition year.

2) Riders are not eligible for awards more than two levels below the highest level competed that season.

Example: A rider who has competed at Preliminary level during the season is eligible for awards at Preliminary, Training and Novice. This rider is not eligible for awards at Beginner Novice.

3) Riders may earn points on more than one horse.

4) Points are calculated based on a new system created by the Area IV YR Youth Council that focuses on quality of rides instead of placings.

5) Awards will be presented to the top 6 riders at each level.
