Although this is 13-year-old Mia’s first full year eventing, she has won multiple world and national titles in saddleseat competition. After jumping her saddlebred in 2020, she has never looked back and now competes in BN with her 16-year-old OTTB, Remember Me. Mia is excited to be a part of Area IV YR’s and looks forward to new friendships and opportunities. Mia trains with Julie Wolfert.

Fifteen-year-old Rachel, has been eventing for a little over a year. Recently paired with her horse 2013 Ottb Lannister (Lanny) and loving every second together.

Seventeen-year-old Madison has been riding horse for five years. She spent her first years learning on Saddlebreds and Arabians in Saddle seat and Hunt seat, before transitioning to jumping in June of 2020. After purchasing her OTTB Honolulu Blue in January of 2021 from GloryUs Hills Farm where she now resides and competes Madison fell in love with the sport of Eventng

.Madison and Blue competed in the starter division last year finishing as Reserve Champion Horse/Rider in the MidAmerica Area. Madison and Blue recently placed 3rd JrBN at Queeny Park Horse Trials.

Becca Hunt steps in as an Adult Rider to fill our 2022 Midsouth Team. She has competed successfully through the Intermediate level with her longtime partner Snowflake Lane.

Langley Girl is an up and coming youngster. Midsouth will be their second competitive effort. Langley came off the track in 2021 and produced the filly Fuerstendflight RSH this year. prior to starting her eventing career.

Kaela & My Halo are a new partnership. Halo was restarted in November 2021 and joined forces with Kaela in May of this year.

Kaela represented Area IV YRs at Midsouth with High Dollar Dreams at the Novice level in 2021.

Kalea trains with Oliva Caspers and Kelly Grilz out of North Brook Eventing Center in Minnesota.

Cayla B. is a C2 and has been a member of Shoal Creek Pony Club for the past 5 years. As a senior in high school this year she will be competing at the beginner novice level with her Quarter Horse, Cricket.

Cayla and Cricket have competed in Games Rally, Wester and English dressage, jumpers, and now eventing. She trains with Barbara Joyce Falconer.

Cayla and Cricket won bot the Mill Creek Pony Club Horse Trials and Queeny Park Horse Trials in 2022 at the Starter Novice level.

Jillian has been riding for 8 years and found her love for eventing 4 years ago. She has competed up to novice level eventing with my other horse Everything is Awesome but recently took on her new partner World in Excess in March 2022.

World in Excess (extra) is a 2015 OTTB gelding that she has started in eventing with the help of Olivia Caspers and Allie Anderson.

heodora B., known to friends and family as Teddy, is a 12 year old from Wayne, Illinois who is also based in Florida and Virginia with her trainers Karen and David O’Connor.

Last January she bought HH Gunsmoke (“Smokey”), a six year old Connemara gelding. Teddy and Smokey look forward to learning together and moving up the levels.

Thirteen year old Aylah has been riding horses for the past six years. She started Eventing in 2019 and has loved every minute of it. Aylah is a part of Silver Springs Pony Club.

Aylah and Shyloh met this year and competed together at Pony Club Mega Rally. Together their team placed 1st in Dressage and 2nd in Show Jumping

Shelby D is from Hampshire Illinois and is a Fourteen-year-old that is a member of the Wayne Dupage Hunt Pony Club. Shelby has been riding and caring for her horses at home sInce she was 2 years old. Shelby is currently riding Gossip Girl (Gigi) is a 18-year-old Connemara pony.

Fourteen-year-old Tassa P/ has been riding for seven years and trains at Rancho Del Comienzo with Taylor Randall. Tassa started her riding in Hunter but tried her first mini-event three years ago and knew even'ng was her discipline! Tassa and DD’s partnership began in August of 2021 and began competing in 2022 with two wins in mini-events and a 5th place at the Silverwood Summer HT Open BN

Mia V. From Illinois and her 2015, new to eventing, thoroughbred Cometin were joined together in 2020. Mia in conjunction with Kayli M, Meadow C, and Siena P. Brought home fourth place in the team competition as Area IV YR Backstreet Bays.

Iselin B. is a 14-year-old from Wayne, Illinois, and also trains in Florida and Virginia with her trainers Karen and David O’Connor.

Iselin recently bought Bloomfield Pocket Money (Whitaker), an 8-year-old Connemara/Thoroughbred cross gelding. They are eager to move up the levels and continue competing together!

Madi P. has been a member of Area IV Young Riders for five years. She is also an active member of the Area IV Young Riders Youth Council .

Lady Leona is a 14 year old Friesian Sporthorse, who has put more heart into this sport than any other horse Madi has ever known. Lady and Madi both are very competitive but states that they “love the friends and memories we’ve made along the way.”

Michaela Frye has her HB, C3 Eventing and is a member of Mill Creek Pony Club. Michaela has been accepted into the EA21 Clinic in Holly Hill, Louisiana. She trains with HA graduate, Sarah Berkowitz, with Bell Mountain Eventing. Along with eventing, she also enjoys foxhunting and is a member of the 2022 International Pony Club Foxhunting Exchange. Michaela and Small Talk earned a 5th place finish at the 2022 American Eventing Championships in the Beginner Novice Horse Division.

Area IV YR Coordinator, Cynthia, fills out our HLF-HLT team with her new partner, Vinyasa.

G2 (George II) , as he is known in the barn, is full of personality and although not the classic redhead that Cynthia prefers, keeps her entertained nonetheless.

This will be the pair’s first competitive effort.

Madelyn Z. started riding at the age of 5 and hasn’t looked back. She spent her first few years having fun taking western lessons at an amazing barn near their home. In 2015 she joined Silver Springs Pony Club in Columbia, IL

In 2022, Maddie’s trainer, Julie Wolfert, found a horse named Jake while in Florida for the winter. Jake soon became Maddie’s newest partner in Eventing. They competed in one mini event and Mill Creek Pony Club HT at BN before moving up to the Novice level at Queeny Park HT and coming in 7th. They were able to do one better and get 6th at Midsouth HT in Lexington. In her free time, Maddie is a skilled artist, loves to bake, and play with her two dogs.

Seventeen year old Cassie is from Republic MO, and was introduced to the Eventing discipline at a young age, she started competing competitively in 2021. This is her second season with seventeen-year-old thoroughbred, Irish Pub aka Guinness.

The pair brought home 1st and 2nd place at Queeny park and Catalpa Corner horse trials in BN year 2021. They moved up to Novice this year and placed 5th at Longview horse park.

Meadow has been riding regularly for 6 years. She and “Pepsi”, formally known as Elan V, began their partnership in late 2020. In early 2021 they kicked off their eventing career together in Ocala, FL with great results. Training under Jennifer Rousseau at L’espirit Equestrian in Bull Valley, IL, they spent most of 2021 at Beginner Novice, going all the way to AECs in Kentucky. The pair graduated to Novice in late 2021/22 with much success and will be competing at the American Eventing Championships at Rebecca Farm.

Katie T. is based in Illinois. Excel Star Beholden is a 2016 Irish Sport horse. The pair began competing at the Beginner Novice level in February 2021 and have progressed successfully to the Novice level.

The pair competed with the Area IV YR Golden Geldings Mighty Mare team at Midsouth 2021.

Sixteen-year-old Addison H, Kansas, is a member of Horse and Hound Pony Club and has achieved her C2 rating. She has ridden for 11 years and evented for 2. She trains with Julie Wolfert and rides Windsong (Winnie), a 2009 American Warmblood mare (WakeUp/Make a Wish). Windsong has taken Addison from her first event - to multiple successful training events within a year

Sophie Schroeder has been a member of Fox River Valley Pony Club since age 6. Sophie and Polly (Fernhill Prada) have been enjoying eventing and fox hunting for the past two years. They have a new coach, Kristen Rozycki, and really enjoy eventing with Kristen’s team. Sophie is very excited to compete for Area IV at the Midsouth Horse Trials.

Lily S. is entering her Senior year of High School in Barrington, Illinois. She has been riding since she was 6 and got her first horse when she was 4. She started my riding experience in Massachusetts, then Colorado, and now in Illinois.

Lily and her 2006 16.2h Thoroughbred gelding, Sullivan first represented Area IV at Midsouth in 2020 and the Novice level with a 7th place finish. The pair repeated their placing in 2021 at the Training level, finishing on their dressage score.

Lily reports that Sully is a narcoleptic and when he’s not working you can find him sleeping just about anywhere. Lily trains with Jennifer Rousseau of L’Esprit Equestrian.

Olivia is a three-day event rider currently based in Houlton, Wisconsin. She has ridden up through the CCI 2*L eventing level and 3rd-level dressage. Olivia began her riding education at the age of seven at Windy Ridge Ranch. She then held a working student job with Jan Fisk at North Brook Eventing Center, where her love of eventing, training OTTBs, and teaching blossomed. After high school, Olivia worked for Allison Springer for nearly two years and also graduated from the Junior Development Rider Program with Becky Holder.

Olivia is passionate about equine nutrition, horse physiology, bodywork, and the day-to-day love, training, and care of her horses. She is also currently attending Saint Catherine University in the Nursing program. Her love for science and wound management is demonstrated both in the Nursing program and in her horse maintenance.

Sixteenn-year-old Ella W. from Illinois, is a member of Wayne Dupage Hunt Pony Club and also a part of the Versailles eventing team. Falynah B (FeB). is an 9-year-old Hanoverian mare.

Ella and FeB placed 7th individually in OT-A at the 2021 Midsouth Team Challenge and competed on the Area IV YR All Stars team

Ava D is a 16-year-old young rider who is a part of Wayne Dupage Hunt Pony Club and the Versailles Equestrian team. Ava has been riding and caring for horses since she was two years old. She is riding Ti Amo Timothy, a 12 year old Selle Fraçais, that she has had for a little over a year.

Sixteen year old Addie R. has been eventing for 6 years. Dandelion Gryphon (Gryphon) is a 13 year old Irish Draught that Addie has owned for 4 years. They won 1st place in the Junior Novice division at the Otter Creek Spring Horse Trials 2022.

Addie is from Minnesota and trains with Olivia Caspers at North Brook Eventing Center. This team has recently moved up to training level.

High School Senior, Camila S., started riding as a member of the Wayne DuPage Hunt Pony Club in Illinois.

Laplander is a 2010 Thoroughbred gelding who joined Camila in 2020.

Camila trains with the L’Esprit Equestrian Team under the leadership of Jennifer Rousseau.

The pair competed with the Area IV YR Golden Geldings Mighty Mare team in 2021.

16 year old, Kayli M. has been riding horses for 10 years and after a wonderful introduction to the sport with award winning eventer- Clifton Peekachu, she has been successfully competing Fernhill future star, a 2016 Irish sport horse.

Kayli trains with Jennifer Rousseau at L’esprit Equestrian.

The pair won the OBN-B division and lead her area IV backstreet bays team to a 4th place finish at the 2021 Midsouth team challenge.

Michaela Frye has her HB, C3 Eventing and is a member of Mill Creek Pony Club. This year, she began riding Bermuda, a five year-old, Irish Sport Horse mare from Ireland. Sixteen year old Megan is based in Illinois, and has been eventing with Bernard and Catherine Morauw at Versailles Equestrian since 2018. Her mare VC Casandra is a 2012 sella italiano whom she has been partnered with for about a year and a half.

Megan and Cass recently placed 2nd in the OT-C at IEA horse trials this summer, as well as having represented training team Fast & Furious at Hagyard Midsouth 2021.

Emma B. is a High School Junior based in the Chicago, IL area. She and Olivander GS have competed together for two seasons. They are currently competing at the Novice and Training levels.

Riley M. of Wisconsin, and Gemily, the 2008 Irish Sport Horsemare have been competing since May, 2021. The pair competedat Beginner Novice two weeks after Gemily’s arrival and thenmoved up to Novice to finish up the season

Sylvia B. is a 15-year-old Wayne, Illinois native who is also based in Florida and Virginia with her trainers Karen and David O’Connor.

Last November, she joined forces with CSF Dassett Decoy (“Flipper”), a nine-year-old Selle Francais - Irish Sport Horse cross with experience through the three-star level of eventing. Flipper has been showing Sylvia the ropes ever since, and they’re excited to progress through the levels together!

Jaelyn is 16 years old and from Minnesota. Jaelyn has been fortunate to be involved in Area IV, Pony Club, Vaulting and a substitute for the YRDP taught by Becky Holder. She joined forces with her new partner Loughnatousa Yours Truly (Louie) in December 2020 when she imported him from Ireland. Louis is a 9-year-old ISH gelding who came from a show jumper background before finding his love for Eventing with her in 2021. This will be their second season eventing together. The two of them are currently competing at Novice and train with Olivia Caspers at Northbrook Eventing Center.

Alyssa K. is 16yo & has been riding before she could walk!! She’s currently a C-2 in Hinkson Valley Pony Club & has been on the Midwest Region Pony Club games team, “It’s a Games Thing,” winning the East Coast & Central Championships as well as finishing 2nd in the Prince Phillip Cup at LandRover in 2019. She is currently stepping up to Modified with the hopes of a 2* by spring/summer of 2023. She will be a working student for Jen and Kyle Carter in the summer of 2023 between her Jr. & Sr. Year in high school with the plans of being a full-time working student to achieve her goal of being a top 5* rider after high school.

Her horse, McBean, is a 17.1h, 15yo OTTB with preliminary miles.

Intermediate
